Quality product ?
Two ways to think of quality:
1. A pen will write
- functional requirement
- idea that things will work as they are supposed to
2. A pen will write in a way that is pleasing to the writer, and leave behind ink that is pleasing to the reader.
- idea that things should have an aesthetic quality
Let’s combine them as Quality product = functionality + aesthetic value.
If something doesn’t look “pleasing” despite all those essential functionality, it might not leave impression of the creator’s identity.
The first one is called atarimae hinshitsu & the second one miryokuteki hinshitsu in Japanese.
