Silverlight

I was GOOGLING around for what Silverlight is... just got up with some sites. I couldn't understant much of the technical aspects but though i felt some streaming speed and was Lightning up the web concept.

"Silverlight is a cross-browser, cross-platform plug-in for delivering the next generation of Microsoft .NET-based media experiences and rich interactive applications for the Web."
http://silverlight.net/

We are fmiliar with FLASH-Video Streaming but Silverlight more search engine detectable and faster.

Silverlight supports the display of high-definition video files, and importantly, microsoft will do the heavy lifting of sending them over the Net. Streaming large media files costs much but microsoft will be hosting Silverlight media files and applications. Ya good for developers like us.

The Silverlight applications as we see on our browser are delivered in a text-based markup language called XAML (Extensible Application Markup Language). The difference in FLASH based and Silverlight based web content won't be much different to the user but when search engine crawls through the site... the GOOGLE knows how to handle that XAML thing. They can't dive into compiled Flash applications. The flash designers have to bear extra design loads to make their design search engine compatible. Ya i'd have choosed Silverlight. And you can guess, it'll be easier to search for Silverlight products than flash products!

Silverlight Streaming home page Says:
"While the product is in pre-release, storage and delivery is free up to 4 GB, with outbound streaming up to 700 Kbps. As we move out of Beta, developers/designers will have continued use of the service with up to 1 million minutes of free video streaming at 700 Kpbs per site per month. Unlimited streaming will also be available for free with advertising, or with payment of a nominal fee for the service for use without advertising."
